Job Overview
As a Utility Locate Technician based in El Paso, Texas, you will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utilities to prevent damage during excavation. This role requires working independently outdoors, utilizing advanced LaunchPoint software and company-provided vehicles to handle daily locate requests efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Operate independently with a company vehicle equipped as a mobile office, managing daily routes of utility locate requests.
- Precisely locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and occasionally whiskers to ensure safety and accuracy.
- Use a mobile work system to receive and manage daily assignments.
- Participate in on-call rotations and perform overtime duties, including possible night and weekend shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Record, and background checks in compliance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations; marijuana use (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting hourly wage between $22.00 and $30.00, dependent on experience.
- Company vehicle, fuel card, and cell phone provided for daily use, allowing direct travel from home to job sites.
