About the Role
At Ansco & Associates, LLC, the Utility Line Locator plays a crucial role in marking underground utilities with flags and paint, ensuring that projects are conducted safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Use specialized detection equipment to locate and mark underground utility lines, seeking assistance from experienced colleagues when necessary
- Interpret utility maps accurately to identify underground utility locations
- Maintain detailed documentation for all locate assignments
- Respond courteously and promptly to excavation notices
- Maintain clear communication with excavators, utility representatives, and internal staff
- Perform light digging with a shovel when required
- Be prepared to work overtime, travel, and handle on-call or after-hours duties as needed
- Perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Authorized to work legally in the United States for this employer
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license (no provisional licenses) with a satisfactory driving record
Physical Demands
- Frequently work independently in remote locations requiring arm elevation above shoulder level, vehicle operation, squeezing, fine motor skills, bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, as well as keyboard and mouse use
- Occasionally use portable ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs
