Job Overview

The Utility Janitor position involves a work schedule of 14 days on followed by 14 days off. This role is crucial to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the site. Working closely with the Lodge Manager, Utility Janitors uphold company standards pertaining to safety, quality, and site upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of all shared spaces such as the gym, recreation room, boot room, and main lobby.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclable materials.
  • Maintain floors by sweeping and mopping regularly.
  • Ensure all public washrooms are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Keep management offices and front desk areas sanitized.
  • Remove garbage daily from dormitories and transport it to designated disposal locations.
  • Handle collection, distribution, and management of laundry services within the camp.
  • Conduct scheduled utility checks on camp assets.
  • Troubleshoot utility problems including clogged toilets, leaking taps, and damaged fixtures.
  • Replace items such as doorknobs and lightbulbs when necessary.
  • Cut and verify keys for all doors as required.
  • Mount or remove items from walls as needed.
  • Inspect, clean, and replace filters on equipment as necessary.
  • Provide transportation for staff members.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid G driver's license.
  • Experience handling light power tools is required.
  • Capable of working effectively in busy work environments.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain focus on assigned tasks.
  • Previous experience in hotel or camp settings is advantageous.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical capability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
