Your Role with Us
Joining AIA as an Underwriter means playing a pivotal role in facilitating insurance coverage by delivering fair, balanced, and client-centered underwriting decisions. Working within the Customer division, you will evaluate medical and financial risks for both new applicants and policyholders while fostering positive outcomes for customers, advisors, and partners. You will cultivate trust through transparent communication, thoughtful judgement, and excellent service, safeguarding AIA from unwarranted risks. Collaboration with seasoned underwriters, healthcare professionals, and reinsurers will enable you to contribute to ongoing enhancements, share insights with peers, and further your knowledge in a supportive, values-driven workplace.
Your Impact
- Examine medical and financial data to make well-reasoned and equitable underwriting decisions balancing client needs with risk management.
- Develop reliable relationships with advisers, clients, and team members via responsive and professional interactions.
- Clearly explain underwriting conclusions to ensure understanding, transparency, and facilitate policy approvals.
- Consistently apply underwriting protocols, authority boundaries, and reinsurer criteria to uphold quality and compliance standards.
- Detect possible omissions in disclosure and take necessary steps to maintain underwriting integrity.
- Assist in colleague development by sharing expertise, promoting teamwork, and engaging in initiatives for continuous improvement.
Your Capabilities
- Bring a minimum of three years’ experience in medical and financial underwriting, demonstrating sound risk evaluation and appropriate policy term determination.
- Possess strong analytical skills, able to assess complex information from diverse sources to make balanced decisions.
- Communicate and present confidently to build productive stakeholder relationships.
- Maintain a client-focused approach, delivering high-quality results while effectively managing risk.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail with accurate record-keeping across systems and underwriting platforms.
- Possibly hold relevant qualifications and contribute to process enhancements aimed at improving efficiency and service quality.
