Job description
Overview
We seek a seasoned Transformation Lead to spearhead strategic change initiatives within a banking environment, centering on business transformation, digital enablement, operational excellence, enhanced customer experience, technology integration, and organization-wide change management.
The ideal candidate will hold 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within banking, financial services, consulting, or large-scale transformation initiatives with demonstrated success in leading complex cross-functional projects from conceptualization through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement transformation strategies that align with corporate objectives and strategic priorities.
- Guide diverse enterprise and business-unit transformation programs, including retail and corporate banking, operations, digital channels, risk management, compliance, and ancillary functions.
- Convert strategic goals into clear transformation roadmaps, detailing initiatives, timelines, and measurable deliverables.
- Identify and champion opportunities for process simplification, improved customer journeys, cost reduction, and elevated operational efficiency.
- Develop robust governance structures, methodologies, and performance metrics to oversee transformation efforts.
- Manage multiple complex transformation programs concurrently, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Define and monitor program objectives, business cases, KPIs, milestones, dependencies, and benefit realization.
- Install comprehensive governance mechanisms, steering committees, reporting frameworks, and escalation procedures.
- Oversee risk management, issue resolution, and financial performance related to transformation projects.
- Coordinate activities effectively across business units, technology teams, operations, risk and compliance functions, finance, and external partners.
- Collaborate with technology departments to uncover and deploy digital solutions aiding business transitions.
- Drive uptake of digital banking innovations, automation, analytics, AI, cloud computing, APIs, and workflow management platforms.
- Advocate for modernization of outdated processes and legacy platforms through digitization and automation.
- Perform comprehensive reviews of current business processes to identify areas for simplification, standardization, and process improvement.
- Lead the redesign of key processes and contribute to developing target operating models.
- Champion enhancements in operational efficiency, service quality, turnaround times, and cost-to-serve metrics.
- Establish metrics to quantify transformation benefits and validate business value delivery.
- Design and implement change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and organizational models.
- Engage with leaders and teams to foster transformation acceptance and cultivate continuous improvement cultures.
- Assess organizational impacts from transformation and develop communication, training, and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Build strong partnerships with senior management and key stakeholders including technology, finance, risk, compliance, and external entities.
- Present program status, risks, financial updates, and benefits realization to executive committees.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, risk frameworks, and governance standards throughout transformation activities.
- Work in close cooperation with legal, compliance, and audit teams to ensure thorough controls and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
- Advanced degree such as MBA or PGDM is preferred.
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, consultancy, or transformation management.
- Demonstrated success in managing extensive transformation programs with cross-functional coordination.
- In-depth knowledge of banking products, operational processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong program and project management expertise, including governance and stakeholder management.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
- Experience with digital banking, core banking system transformations, customer experience improvements, process re-engineering, automation including intelligent automation, data analytics, AI, cloud computing, payments systems, and regulatory transformations.
- Proficiency in enterprise PMO or transformation office environments, cost optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci Change Management, ITIL, or relevant digital and banking transformation credentials are advantageous.
