Overview

The Training Instructor Supervisor for Armaments is tasked with overseeing and delivering both theoretical and hands-on training related to Typhoon aircraft systems and specialist maintenance disciplines. The role involves evaluating trainee progress and assessing the training program's effectiveness within the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility (QTTF), complemented by practical mentoring in operational settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead as the expert and curriculum authority within the maintenance technician discipline, providing supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Training Instructors.
• Manage Training Instructors in preparing and conducting assigned courses following the authorized syllabus and training schedule managed via the Training Management Information System (TMIS).
• Oversee the invigilation and assessment marking by Training Instructors or designated staff.
• Facilitate ongoing evaluation and detailed reporting of trainee development.
• Coordinate the availability and use of aircraft and equipment required for courses.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) during practical training.
• Verify equipment checks and readiness based on approved standards before commencing training sessions.
• Maintain safe conditions in training environments including classrooms, workshops, and aircraft.
• Supervise discipline and conduct of trainees at all times, including breaks and transitions between training areas.
• Report trainee attendance and absences to the Training Manager promptly.
• Monitor and confirm the quality and accuracy of instruction and assessments done by Training Instructors.
• Support continuous professional development for yourself and Training Instructors.
• Work closely with QTTF personnel to ensure compliance with planning, standards, compliance, and exam management procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying training material gaps and course deficiencies to the Training Manager.
• Fulfil other duties delegated by the Training Manager as necessary.

Core Activities

• Ensure type training is delivered effectively, meeting set performance targets and supporting continuing airworthiness.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of training activities and airworthiness records, reporting issues as needed.
• Adhere to Part 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Exposition (MTOE) procedures and standards, proposing and implementing changes as required.
• Apply Human Factors and Error Management principles to maintain a safe training environment.
• Ensure compliance with Part 147 MTOE through audit support and prompt resolution of audit findings.
• Understand and adhere to statutory, regulatory, and legislative requirements including compliance with ITAR, EaPW, ISO standards.
• Support contract reviews ensuring training processes meet contractual obligations.
• Contribute to quality assurance within QTTF by proactively identifying and implementing service improvements.
• Be responsible for health, safety, and welfare of personnel and visitors within your area and uphold environmental protection policies.
• Ensure all data handling complies with Data Protection policies, maintaining information security and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a Training Qualification at Level 3 or above, such as Level 3 Award in Education & Training, Level 4 Certificate, or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training.
• Possess at least an NVQ3/ONC level or equivalent qualification in an aircraft maintenance-related discipline.
• Have a minimum of five years of recent, relevant experience in a Maintenance & Support environment with direct involvement in supporting training activities.
• Strong understanding of the Regulatory Framework relevant to training systems and processes.
• At least five years’ experience supervising and delivering aircraft Type training with practical knowledge of instructional and mentoring practices and related key performance indicators.
• Ability to independently manage complex professional training tasks and support the Training team effectively.
