Export Control Officer

Job Overview

This position involves ensuring adherence to all Export Control policies and procedures for the Company at the Eurofighter Typhoon Main Operating Base in Dukhan airbase, Qatar, complying with all applicable Export Control laws and regulations. The role reports operationally and functionally to the Qatar Export Control Manager and may have additional tasks depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing the Export Control framework at the Dukhan airbase.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for daily guidance on Export Control regulatory and procedural requirements.
• Engage in assurance activities including internal and external audits across all Main Operating Base departments.
• Conduct Export Control investigations, prepare disclosure documents, identify corrective measures, and lead root cause and lessons learned reviews.
• Identify Export Control risks and support development of risk mitigation strategies.
• Create and deliver local training related to export controls.

Performance Standards

• Consistently develop and apply Export Control policies, processes, and procedures in a professional and proactive manner.
• Provide specialist advisory support that positively impacts business operations in this critical compliance area.
• Execute accurate investigations, pinpoint root causes, and formulate clear corrective actions agreed with project stakeholders.
• Maintain the Export Control team's reputation internally and with customers, playing a central role in decisions involving Export Control, import, and export matters.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail in all activities.
• Effectively influence key organizational stakeholders.

Functional and Business Expertise

• Preferable to have familiarity with Export Control laws, regulations, and their application to business activities.
• Beneficial to understand the company's products, services, software, technical information, and their relationships to relevant Export Control lists.

Accountabilities

• Provide support for Export Control compliance activities at the Main Operating Base facility.
• Assist with assurance initiatives in country, including audit processes, corrective action planning, and maintaining visibility of improvements according to stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate and influence stakeholders across the business to meet strategic Export Control objectives.
• Contribute to preparing and presenting reports reflecting Export Control performance to various stakeholders.
