Trades Assistant

Job Overview

This role involves supporting general operational tasks and maintenance activities under direction. The Trades Assistant will help assemble equipment, maintain work areas, and assist the maintenance and operations teams in meeting deadlines.

Main Duties

• Carry out general operational and maintenance work as directed
• Assist in assembling equipment and keeping work areas organized
• Support the maintenance and operations teams to ensure timely completion of tasks
• Provide manual labor for upkeep and repairs of plant and equipment
• Help skilled trades personnel with maintenance and repairs
• Conduct minor and straightforward repairs under supervision following instructions

Candidate Profile

• Experience as a trades assistant, laborer, or in workshop environments is highly preferred
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is recommended due to limited public transport options
• Exhibit a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a cooperative spirit to complete assigned tasks
• Flexible availability to work weekends and overtime when necessary
• Competent in identifying and resolving mechanical issues
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and a safety-focused attitude
