Role Overview
They are currently looking for an experienced senior trade counter sales associate to join the Galway team, focusing on providing personalized customer support and driving sales of building materials and related products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve customers in-store and respond to phone inquiries effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to accurately assess customer needs.
- Identify sales opportunities and offer customized advice to boost sales performance.
- Acquire and utilize detailed knowledge of building materials to support customers.
- Maintain store presentation by keeping displays organized and appealing.
- Assist with inventory management including stock counting and stocktaking activities.
- Collaborate closely with Warehouse and Yard teams to ensure prompt and accurate order fulfillment.
- Support other necessary daily operational tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, including health and safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ experience working in retail or within building merchant environments.
- Proven track record in achieving or exceeding sales targets and profit margins.
- Good knowledge of DIY products and construction-related materials.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact well with customers and colleagues.
- A motivated, positive, and proactive work approach.
- Competency in computer use for operational tasks.
Employment Details
- Full-time position with 8-hour shifts.
- Competitive base salary between €32,500 and €35,000, with opportunities for overtime earnings.
- On-site work location in Galway, County Galway, Ireland.
