About the Role and Company
Join a dynamic ASX 200 organization focused on upskilling, innovation, and career growth. This full-time role is based at Mineral Resources' flagship Onslow Iron Operation in Western Australia, contributing significantly to the operation’s success. The site features an advanced 2.5-acre workshop facility, under cover with 15 bays, supporting Heavy Road Train Fitters, Auto Electricians, and Boilermakers in maintenance and repair of a large fleet of Kenworth C509 Road Trains. The position operates on a rotating 2:1 roster alternating between day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist trades personnel with general servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and trailer maintenance tasks on heavy vehicle fleets
- Support Heavy Vehicle Trades teams including Heavy Road Train Fitters and Auto Electricians in a busy workshop environment
Candidate Requirements
- Valid Australian working rights
- Previous experience as a Trade Assistant in a high-activity workshop environment
- Familiarity with Heavy Vehicle trade practices and supporting trades such as HD Fitters and Auto Electricians
- Hold a current HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's license
- Forklift certification
- Strong communication abilities
- Rigging and Dogging tickets are advantageous though not mandatory

The Onslow Iron initiative aims to transform mining in Western Australia with world-first autonomous road trains, dust-free transport solutions, and innovative trans-shipping operations. Situated approximately 150 kilometers east of Onslow, the project plans to move around 35 million tonnes of iron ore annually with an expected mine lifespan exceeding 30 years. Key components include the Ken’s Bore mine, Onslow Port infrastructure, and the Onslow Truck Maintenance Facility.
