Job Overview

The role focuses on fabricating, assembling, maintaining, and repairing production tools such as dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures. Precision and practical knowledge of tool room operations are essential.

Key Duties

  • Produce, assemble and fix tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds following technical drawings.
  • Interpret and apply engineering blueprints, specifications, and tolerance standards.
  • Operate conventional machinery including Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Drilling equipment.
  • Assist in tool trials, modifications, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to optimize tool longevity and functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve tool-related production issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and uphold 5S workplace organization in the tool room.
  • Document and maintain accurate records related to tooling.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive understanding of tool manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Proficiency in reading 2D technical drawings and fundamental GD&T principles.
  • Practical experience using tool room measurement instruments.
  • Strong meticulousness and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Between two and three years of hands-on experience in tooling or manufacturing settings.
