About the Role
We are inviting an experienced Tooling Engineer to join a leading aerospace team focused on mechanical design and manufacturing industrialization. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing production tooling used in high-precision aerospace composite structures, directly impacting the quality, performance, and innovation of global aerospace programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop efficient tooling solutions including molds, jigs, and production fixtures.
- Adapt and refine designs based on trial outcomes or production feedback to enhance tool reliability and longevity.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation and specifications.
- Set technical tooling manufacturing requirements and oversee manufacturing processes and supplier interactions.
- Identify tooling and process requirements for both new and ongoing projects.
- Contribute to tooling-related inputs during bid and quotation stages.
- Lead tooling trials, commissioning activities, and validation procedures.
- Work collaboratively with methods, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure alignment.
- Utilize CATIA V5 and CAD-CAM software for 3D modeling and simulation of tooling designs.
- Deliver technical support during production phases and internal or external audits.
Professional Qualifications
- Proficient in CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office suite.
- Extensive experience designing composite and metallic tooling.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing and assembly workflows, including jigless assembly methodologies.
- Knowledgeable in advanced manufacturing techniques and industrial analytical methods.
- Experience or interest in automation and digital manufacturing technologies is advantageous.
Educational Background
Holds an Engineering degree at Bachelor's or Master's level in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience & Competencies
- At least 5 years of experience specifically in aerospace composite tooling design and development.
- Preferred experience working on Airbus or Boeing aerospace programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, continuous improvement initiatives, and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Skilled in equipment testing, commissioning, and inspection related to tooling systems.
