About the Role

The Threader position involves operating and supporting pipe threading activities in line with company protocols. The role ensures secure and compliant operations during work shifts under the guidance of the Fabrication Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate a Landis Pipe Threading machine to thread pipes of different sizes as per production instructions.
  • Plan layouts, installations, or repairs of pipe systems in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Measure and mark pipes accurately for cutting, bending, or threading processes.
  • Assemble or fasten pipes, tubes, and fittings by methods such as welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading.
  • Convert operational instructions into computer commands to enable correct machine functions.
  • Cut and thread pipes, mark outlet holes, and create grooves as required.
  • Monitor machine operation, making adjustments to enhance quality and output.
  • Inspect finished pipes for specification compliance.
  • Apply Teflon paste and tape to pipe threads on a daily basis.
  • Organize pipe pieces by line numbers each day as per production sheets.
  • Bundle and tag pipe batches daily for identification.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all threading processes and paperwork.

Additional Duties

  • Keep the workspace tidy and well-organized.
  • Clean and maintain machinery daily to ensure optimal operation.
  • Wrap pallets regularly for ripples.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Supervisory Role

Provide limited team leadership by motivating, directing, reviewing, and giving feedback to colleagues on assigned jobs.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • No prior experience required, though familiarity with pipe threading is advantageous.
  • Machining experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, documents, and production sheets.
  • Competent math, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills necessary.
