Role Summary
The Termite Technician is responsible for safeguarding customer properties by identifying termite issues and implementing treatment and prevention measures. This role involves on-site inspections, applying specialized anti-termite treatments, and providing customers with advice on maintaining termite-free environments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose termite infestations by understanding termite behavior to choose appropriate remedial actions.
- Apply termite treatment services safely, adhering strictly to company and safety protocols.
- Administer anti-termite treatments following a scheduled plan and label guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with customers about conditions that promote termite activity and recommend supportive structural modifications.
- Ensure work orders meet job specifications before beginning treatment.
- Operate and upkeep service vehicles and related equipment.
- Document services rendered through accurate production forms.
- Engage professionally with customers, clarifying procedures and services performed.
Essential Physical and Work Conditions
- Tolerate varying environmental elements including seasonal weather and dust.
- Prepare treatment sites, including entry into crawl spaces and climbing ladders, sometimes at heights up to 20 feet.
- Perform physically demanding activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in confined spaces.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, including OSHA-compliant respirators, especially when working in confined or narrow spaces where pests reside.
- Experience or skills in general labor, carpentry, roofing, cement work, gutters, or attic access are considered advantageous.
Candidate Requirements
- Clean-shaven face to ensure proper fit for protective respiratory equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license for the resident state; company provides vehicle and fuel card.
- Minimum one year of customer service experience; familiarity with termite control is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with eagerness to learn new skills.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as necessary.
- Compliance with any federal, state, or local licensing or certification requirements; training and certification costs are covered by the company.
- Basic arithmetic proficiency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to accurately follow product mixing instructions.
