About the Role
Become part of Macquarie's Banking and Financial Services legal team, delivering regulatory and commercial counsel across the Group's diverse divisions. As a Technology and Regulatory Risk Lawyer, your focus will be on providing legal guidance related to technology, artificial intelligence, data management, privacy, and cybersecurity risks. You will collaborate closely with regulatory risk teams to manage these risks effectively and support related regulatory engagements. Additionally, your responsibilities encompass drafting and negotiating technology and commercial contracts.
Candidate Profile
- Admitted to practice law in Australia with a minimum of five years’ experience in technology and regulatory risk or compliance, either within corporate environments or private practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, with particular emphasis on technology legal risk, contractual risk, data and cybersecurity risk, privacy risk, prudential regulation, and AI-related regulatory compliance.
- An innovative approach with flexibility to adapt to evolving circumstances.
- A collaborative spirit, offering high-quality client service to a broad range of internal stakeholders across local and international projects.
- Experience in the financial services sector's technology domain is advantageous but relevant expertise from other industries will also be considered.
