As a Facilities Tool Installation Technician, your main focus will be on installing manufacturing equipment and undertaking routine and non-routine maintenance related to process tools. You will proactively collaborate with contractors during installation, conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, manage utilities activation post-installation, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and budget policies following site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with contractors to execute equipment connections for new, converted, relocated, or removed tools, maintaining high quality standards and meeting dynamic schedules and budgets.
- Work closely with fabrication equipment owners to facilitate utility releases per planned timelines and provide timely updates on tool release statuses.
- Strictly follow safety and environmental regulations, including global and local guidelines, risk assessments, safe work processes, and permit to work systems.
- Serve as a Safety Ambassador for tool installs by coaching contractors, actively participating in safety committees, discussions, and training sessions.
- Conduct regular inspections of areas to identify improvement opportunities in safety, cleanliness, housekeeping, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain consistent, clear, and respectful communication with peers and vendors involved in tool installation.
- Keep supervisors informed about work progress and report any irregularities or concerns in your assigned areas.
- Interpret Vendor Model Process (VMP) and Location Specific Package (LSP) drawings to identify discrepancies.
- Adhere to area-specific procedures and documentation, including VMP, LSP, and test pack approvals from key stakeholders.
- Organize work priorities effectively to meet schedules with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshoot utilities and cleanroom systems related to tools; collaborate with multiple facility disciplines including mechanical teams for HVAC issues.
- Perform utility turn-ons after installation completion.
- Execute exhaust testing and balancing for manufacturing tools as required.
- Measure utility consumption for tools and accurately record data for utilities tracking and flow rate measurement.
- Comply with site policies following Facilities 12 Disciplines, Cleanroom Protocols, and Tool Installation general requirements.
- Complete assigned training and learning items within allocated timeframes.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights to enhance daily work efficiency, quality, and effectiveness while adhering to organizational and legal standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement culture by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements relevant to your duties.
- Ensure the quality management system (QMS) and business processes you manage are effective, conform to requirements, and produce intended outputs.
- Report on QMS and process performance, identify improvement opportunities, and promote strong customer focus internally and externally.
- Maintain QMS integrity during planned changes and guarantee customer requirements are fulfilled.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or higher qualification in Engineering or related disciplines is required.
- Previous experience in facilities engineering or a related domain.
- Hands-on experience within a semiconductor wafer fabrication environment.
- Competent project management capabilities with skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive mindset with ambition for effective problem-solving.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to flawless outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Automation and programming skills are advantageous.
- Baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to responsibly utilize AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, and operational tasks.
