Technician

Overview

The Technician role involves executing routine upkeep, diagnosing issues, and repairing various restaurant systems and equipment to ensure consistent operational flow.

Core Duties

• Manage electrical repairs including faults in lighting, switches, wiring, and maintain electrical panels and circuit breakers following preventive care schedules.
• Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting for kitchen machinery such as dosa plates, grinders, refrigerators, freezers, and exhaust systems; liaise with external technicians when necessary.
• Handle plumbing problems like leaks, blocked drains, faucet and washbasin repairs, along with minor civil works such as painting, carpentry, and fixture upkeep.
• Perform regular inspections of all restaurant equipment and facilities, documenting maintenance activities and identifying issues proactively to avoid operational hindrances.
• Adhere to safety protocols in the use of tools and equipment, including electrical and fire safety, and communicate significant malfunctions or repair needs to supervisors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completed ITI or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC).
• At least 1 to 2 years' experience in maintenance roles, ideally within hotels, restaurants, or commercial kitchen settings.
• Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment servicing tasks.
• Capability to promptly respond to emergency breakdowns and maintain uninterrupted restaurant operations.
