Technical Trainer

About the Role

Axis Communications is seeking a passionate Technical Trainer to join their team in Sydney or Melbourne. This role involves managing the full spectrum of Axis training programs tailored to partners, system integrators, and customers across the Oceania region. The trainer will customize and deliver engaging sessions using adult learning principles via classrooms, webinars, and live demos at trade shows, collaborating closely with HQ in Sweden and regional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct professional, updated training sessions including Axis Academy courses, customized programs, and product demonstrations at trade shows.
• Plan, coordinate, and present webinars focusing on Axis products and solutions for the local region.
• Advocate Axis training initiatives both internally and externally.
• Collaborate with Global Training and regional representatives to enhance and update training materials continually.
• Maintain or arrange appropriate venues for classroom training sessions.
• Serve as the primary regional contact for all training-related inquiries.
• Manage and oversee student enrolment and progress within training programs.
• Engage actively with the global trainer community within Axis.
• Stay informed on industry developments, regional updates, and legislation concerning video surveillance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in delivering technical training to adult learners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routers, switches, and VPNs.
• In-depth understanding of video transport protocols, compression technologies, and image quality fundamentals.

• Exceptional presentation and motivational skills to effectively transfer knowledge.
• Familiarity with adult education theories and the ability to deliver training in diverse formats such as classroom sessions, webinars, and exhibitions.
• Competence in creating and customizing comprehensive training content.
• Deep technical expertise with Axis products and associated systems to establish thought leadership.
• A passion for teaching, openness, teamwork, and experience in multinational environments.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• A collaborative, flexible, and positive attitude with a willingness to travel approximately 35-45% domestically and occasionally internationally.

Additional Information
