Technical Maintenance Manager - Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Team

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Maintenance Manager for our Erfurt site to lead technical operations and engineering tasks within the facility. This role demands leadership of a technical team, fostering a high safety culture, ensuring maximum operational equipment availability, and collaborating with the European Engineering Team to support growth initiatives. The position involves spearheading network-wide improvement implementations and integration of new standards at the location.

Key Responsibilities

• Full accountability for managing the maintenance team and all mechanical, electrical, and building facilities including automated sorting and conveyor systems, industrial trucks, and building services equipment.
• Ensure top equipment uptime by adopting advanced maintenance methodologies like Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM).
• Guarantee issue resolution for technical faults across all shifts.
• Enforce safety standards and lead proactive safety culture development.
• Drive ongoing development of technical and interpersonal skills within the maintenance team to support operations expansion.
• Create strategies for continuous enhancement of equipment effectiveness measured by Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Participate in site leadership to influence strategic decisions.
• Lead and assist technical projects related to new site construction (greenfield) and upgrades (brownfield).
• Oversee site maintenance and repair budgets.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment functionality and internal processes.

Qualifications

• Degree or technician certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
• Proficiency in both electrical and mechanical engineering domains.
• Background in industrial maintenance, especially handling automated machinery such as packaging, sorting, and conveyor systems.
• Familiarity with modern maintenance approaches including Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Strong analytical abilities and skills in structured independent work.
• Excellent teamwork capabilities with aptitude in presenting complex topics clearly.
• Fluent in German and proficient in English.

Preferred Experience

• Background in technical project management.
• Knowledge of maintenance and safety practices for building systems in logistics centers.
• Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) control systems.
