Role Overview
This position entails comprehensive responsibility for orchestrating, deploying, and overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure. The role uniquely blends deep technical know-how in system administration with strategic program management skills to guarantee robust performance, efficient scalability, and stringent security of IT assets. Key focus areas include hardware, software, networks, and cloud environments, alongside leading critical infrastructure development initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and sustain servers, storage arrays, networking hardware, and virtual platforms both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Configure, maintain, and support Windows Server and various Linux operating systems.
- Continuously monitor system operations, execute routine backups, and validate disaster recovery strategies through testing.
- Implement strong security measures including patch deployments, access control, and adherence to organizational policies.
- Diagnose and remediate issues related to hardware and software impacting infrastructure.
- Manage directory services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file sharing services.
- Steer infrastructure projects encompassing upgrades, cloud migration efforts, network growth, and introduction of new services.
- Define and manage project parameters—scope, timeline, budget, resources—in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure project execution aligns with company objectives, compliance standards, and risk management plans.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams and external vendors to effectively deploy infrastructure programs.
- Produce regular analytical reports and dashboards covering infrastructure health, project statuses, and risk indicators.
- Scout for process automation, operational enhancement, and cost efficiency opportunities.
- Mentor junior IT staff and system administrators, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of best practices, operational procedures, and training resources.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, compliance, and operational teams to uphold policy enforcement and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar technical discipline, or hold equivalent practical experience.
- Accumulate over eight years of hands-on experience in system administration and infrastructure oversight.
- Bring at least four years of experience managing infrastructure-related programs and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure initiatives that deliver quantifiable improvements.
- Technical mastery of Windows Server and Linux platforms, virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, and cloud services including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Strong background in network architecture, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and storage systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Active Directory ecosystems, Group Policy administration, authentication protocols, and security frameworks.
- Hands-on expertise with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, among others.
- Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or an equivalent) is highly regarded.
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem resolution, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and proven experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
