Job Overview
Become an integral part of New Zealand's future by joining our Auckland-based Planning team as a Technical Director. This leadership role involves guiding high-impact infrastructure and planning projects, contributing to sustainable community development, and fostering a positive environmental and societal influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide technical direction on multidisciplinary projects, coordinating planning, environmental assessments, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
- Serve as Project Manager or Project Director for complex initiatives, overseeing financials and timelines while ensuring client satisfaction through effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Drive strategic growth of the New Zealand Planning team by building strong client relationships, networking, and identifying new market opportunities.
- Support and mentor junior planners nationally, promoting professional development and delivery excellence.
- Engage in professional growth via training, active participation in industry organizations, and involvement in global technical communities.
- Contribute to a collaborative, flexible workplace culture supporting work-life balance.
Candidate Profile
- Holds at least a Bachelor’s degree with over 20 years of experience in planning, especially related to infrastructure.
- Full membership in the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
- Recognized as a respected technical expert with substantial consultancy experience and well-established client networks.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
- Proactive decision-maker with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to think critically.
- International experience is a plus.
- Must be located in Auckland or willing to relocate.
