About the Role

Queensland Corrective Services invites applications for a permanent full-time Supervisor position based in Townsville, Queensland. This role involves leading a dedicated team within Community Corrections to supervise adults on Community Based Orders and Parole. The purpose is to ensure community safety by guiding Case Managers who work directly with clients to address their risks and needs, thereby reducing re-offending and encouraging rehabilitation.

The role emphasizes cultural competence and respectful engagement with First Nations clients and communities. It offers diverse work environments and opportunities to explore the natural beauty of Northern Queensland.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and support Case Managers to effectively supervise clients in the community based on assessed risks and needs.
  • Ensure a high standard of community safety through diligent oversight and management of correctional practices.
  • Act as an agent of change, promoting rehabilitation and positive behavioural change in offenders.
  • Maintain professionalism and accountability as required within the public service framework.
  • Possibly work outside normal hours, travel to different locations, or operate from alternative sites as needed.

  • Resilient with a strong motivation to maintain high standards in frontline service delivery.

  • Passion for addressing the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the criminal justice system.
  • Possession of a valid C class driving licence, which may be mandatory depending on location.
