Job description
Role Overview
This position involves supporting the daily operations of Sentence Management Services within correctional facilities or hub environments at specified locations. Responsibilities cover prisoner engagement and assessment, report drafting, and administrative duties related to lawful detention, court proceedings, and parole processes. Additionally, the role includes overseeing and coordinating small work units to ensure adherence to deadlines, legislation, and departmental regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Engage with and evaluate prisoners as part of sentence management activities.
- Prepare and write detailed reports associated with prisoner management and legal processes.
- Carry out administrative tasks linked to detention, court appearances, and parole.
- Supervise and coordinate small team units, ensuring compliance with legislated timeframes and internal policies.
Essential Requirements
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system or comparable legislated environments, or relevant workplace experience demonstrating quick acquisition of such knowledge.
- Proven ability to handle demanding work settings with strong planning and organization to meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary for engaging various internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced problem-solving aptitude to identify and resolve issues, including risk assessment related to prisoner management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail in preparing complex reports for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising staff, prioritizing tasks, managing workflow, and developing local work strategies or practices.
