Substitute Custodian - Districtwide

Overview

This Substitute Custodian position entails executing skilled cleaning and routine maintenance duties to ensure school buildings and grounds remain clean, secure, and safe across the district.

Key Duties

• Clean extensive school facilities and outdoor areas maintaining hygiene and order.
• Prepare athletic fields and associated amenities for scheduled events.
• Support stage setups and operations during school productions and activities.
• Conduct quality checks on custodial work and offer technical feedback on team member performance.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and manage supply requests to ensure operational efficiency.
• Carry out minor repairs and inspect critical systems such as heating and water supply.
• Assist in training and guiding custodial staff to uphold standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum three years of custodial experience, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
• High school diploma or an equivalent certification.
• Practical knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety rules, and operational procedures.
• Ability to motivate and lead personnel while effectively following directives.
• Capable of performing manual labor including lifting up to 75 pounds and climbing ladders.
• Comfortable standing for extended durations and working outdoors under varying weather conditions.
