Scope of Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with accepted engineering and design principles, regulatory mandates, and client requirements.
• Assist with the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates to maintain consistency.
• Enhance technical understanding by integrating relevant legal requirements and customer specifications when applicable and lawful.
• Apply both local and international standards to maintain high technical quality.
• Support quality control processes including checks, peer reviews, and incorporation of feedback.
• Adopt recognized engineering practices especially relevant to Offshore Structural design engineering.
• Develop design specifications and detailed drawings, including calculations and reports, while adhering to verification processes.
• Maintain current and accurate documentation throughout the design development phases ensuring alignment with user requirements.
• Conduct studies and analyses, recommending appropriate solutions based on engineering expertise.
• Identify and manage professional risks, statutory responsibilities, and liabilities in design work.
• Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Participate in offshore site surveys as required.
• Engage in discipline-specific engineering tasks including scope change reporting and contributing to multi-disciplinary projects.

Quality and Safety

• Operate within established Quality Assurance systems and guidelines.
• Commitment to personal safety by following Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
• Implement Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) considerations throughout the design process, emphasizing process safety and best practices.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Mandatory accreditation from the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) with a willingness to obtain it within the probation period if not already accredited.
• Possession or pursuit of Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is considered advantageous.

Industry Experience

• Relevant experience in structural engineering within offshore oil and gas projects.
• Proven background in multi-disciplinary offshore structural engineering projects and teams.
• Technical competency across various discipline design and engineering areas.
• Preferred experience with marine and port infrastructure such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, and pavements.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, and related engineering software tools.
