Job description
Overview
We are offering a permanent position for a Stores Person at HMP Wymott, located in Leyland, Lancashire. This role is part of the Ministry of Justice account, delivering essential facilities management services to support safe and efficient prison operations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage stock control within the stores efficiently.
- Ensure timely delivery of items both to prisoners and staff throughout the prison.
- Oversee prisoners assigned to work within the stores environment.
- Collect necessary items locally as required.
Candidate Profile
- Comfort and experience working collaboratively with prisoners.
- Basic IT proficiency.
- Possession of a valid driving licence is mandatory.
- Familiarity with manual handling procedures is advantageous.
- Background in store or stockroom operations preferred.
Terms & Working Hours
The role offers a salary of 27,426 per annum. The standard weekly working hours are 39, from Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with an early finish at 3:00 PM on Fridays.
Security & Clearance
Successful candidates must obtain Prison Security Clearance including Standard DBS. Support through this clearance process will be provided by the employer.
