Job description
Role Overview
We invite applications for a permanent position as a General Operative/Handyperson to join our Nuclear Restoration services team at the NRS Oldbury site in Oldbury Naite, Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, BS35 1RQ. This role operates a standard 37.5-hour workweek compressed into four days (Monday to Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively within a vibrant team conducting general maintenance and assisting skilled tradespersons onsite.
- Perform varied facilities management tasks assigned by the team leader, including porterage, handling deliveries and collections offsite, managing postage duties, relocating infrastructure, and escorting subcontractors and vehicles.
- Maintain compliance with rigorous health and safety regulations throughout the contract.
- Support business and local zero carbon initiatives by contributing to sustainability objectives.
Role Demands
This position requires physical fitness due to frequent manual handling, heavy lifting, and various active tasks integral to daily duties.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a full UK driving licence is essential.
- Forklift licence preferred; however, training opportunities can be provided.
- Proven experience in facilities or caretaker roles within industrial or warehouse environments is necessary.
Additional Information
The appointment is contingent upon passing the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) background check, encompassing identity verification, right to work confirmation, employment history, references, and basic criminal record screening.
