Role Overview
As a Stores Executive based in Kochi, India, you will be integral to managing inventory operations. Your responsibilities include overseeing stock receipts, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with departments, ensuring compliance, and boosting operational efficiency. This role demands strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, and an adaptable approach in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and meticulously inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Keep precise, current inventory records, updating systems promptly for all stock transactions.
- Distribute materials to departments based on approved requests and operational needs.
- Ensure correct storage practices including labeling and stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO methods to maintain product quality and reduce waste.
- Carry out frequent inventory audits daily, weekly, and monthly, supporting detailed stock reconciliations.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Finance, and operational teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Track stock availability, analyze consumption trends, and swiftly report slow-moving or damaged items.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of storage areas in compliance with company policies and audit guidelines.
- Assist with month-end inventory processes and generate comprehensive inventory reports as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain clear and transparent communication about inventory status, discrepancies, and resolutions with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience as a Stores Executive, Storekeeper, or Inventory Executive in corporate or hospitality sectors.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial or accounting reporting software.
- Strong analytical and multitasking capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills facilitating effective interdepartmental collaboration.
- Sound understanding of inventory management principles, stock control techniques like FIFO/FEFO, and warehouse operations.
- Professional demeanor with a solid grasp of business objectives.
- Proactive and resilient, able to adapt to evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organization and time management skills with acute attention to detail.
- Knowledge of compliance standards, audit protocols, and safety regulations relevant to warehouse and stores management.
- Preferred qualifications include vendor negotiation skills, supplier relationship experience, familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems, and leadership experience in stores or warehouse settings.
