Job Overview
We seek a Store Manager passionate about coaching and developing a retail team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will guide your team to help customers with pet nutrition and solutions while building close relationships within the community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow with a leading pet retail brand in a pet-centered work environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained by all employees and foster strong community relationships, including with local humane societies.
- Lead and manage store staff by recruiting, scheduling, training, assigning daily duties, supervising, and providing coaching to enhance performance.
- Enforce adherence to corporate operational standards and procedures across all store activities.
- Oversee administrative functions such as placing orders, managing inventory levels, conducting store and safety audits, handling minor repairs, and completing corporate paperwork.
- Drive the store team’s efforts to meet established business targets and performance goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience managing customer service operations in a retail setting.
- Strong interest in developing skills and knowledge within the pet care industry.
- Outgoing, friendly demeanor with excellent customer service abilities.
- Availability to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings to meet store attendance needs.
- Reliable transportation to commute to the Forest, Ontario location.
- Capability to observe and coach employees on sales approaches and delivering superior service.
- Ability to handle conflict resolution among staff or escalate when necessary.
- Familiarity with operating POS systems.
- Physical ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prior experience in the pet industry is considered a bonus.
