About the Role

Our client, a distinguished name in Irish craft, design, and gifts, is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead their Galway city location. This role demands a dynamic leader who excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented retail setting and who can enhance sales, margin performance, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the store team to meet sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service, focusing on maximizing repeat business and using up-selling, linking, and cross-selling techniques.
  • Ensure brand presentation through outstanding product visual merchandising.
  • Create exceptional experiences for both customers and staff daily.
  • Manage and monitor store performance against annual sales budgets and KPIs such as sales, margin, conversion rates, stock loss, average transaction value (ATV), items per transaction (IPT), and mystery shopper scores.
  • Develop a knowledgeable, customer-focused sales team.
  • Keep abreast of local competitors and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain store appearance and merchandising to brand standards.
  • Work with buyers and marketing teams to analyze and improve the sales performance of product lines.
  • Collaborate with buying, marketing, and warehouse departments to drive store initiatives.
  • Support local marketing efforts and campaigns.
  • Use product knowledge and sales skills to boost sales.
  • Collect customer data via databases and monthly promotions.
  • Promote and educate customers about the loyalty program, encouraging registrations and participation through communication and in-store marketing.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, optimize store space, and analyze sales reports for stock performance.
  • Assist with store profit and loss management.
  • Train and coach colleagues on promoting the loyalty program and its benefits.

  • Proven ability in product visual merchandising, adhering to brand standards.

  • Track record of driving sales using product knowledge and effective selling techniques.

Additional Information

  • This is a permanent, full-time position based onsite in Galway city.
  • Work schedule involves a seven-day rota with hours varying seasonally.
