Job description
Position Objective
The Cluster Manager is responsible for supervising the overall operations and financial outcomes of a small group of retail stores representing a single brand within a specified area of a country. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, delivering excellent customer service, leading store teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This includes market assessment, financial monitoring, and collaborating closely with the Area Sales Manager and brand teams to enhance store performance, manage inventory efficiently, and implement promotional and marketing initiatives to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day functions of a designated cluster of retail outlets, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency.
- Conduct frequent audits of store operations and facilities to guarantee adherence to corporate standards, policies, and procedures, emphasizing productivity, safety, and security.
- Coordinate resources—including personnel, stock, and logistics—to support the opening of new stores and closing of existing ones within the cluster.
- Enforce company SOPs, policies, and loss prevention audit protocols throughout all assigned stores, taking corrective action when non-compliance arises.
- Supervise the consistent application of Visual Merchandising standards across every store in the cluster.
Sales & Financial Management
- Track and analyze sales results against weekly goals, historical data, and forecasts; implement necessary adjustments collaboratively.
- Establish profitable sales targets tailored to each store within the cluster based on market conditions and individual store attributes.
- Oversee inventory levels with brand team collaboration to maintain optimal stock, minimizing shrinkage and enhancing turnover rates.
Customer Experience
- Champion superior customer service by coaching store personnel and setting rigorous service benchmarks.
- Continuously evaluate and elevate customer service standards across the cluster.
- Respond effectively and promptly to customer questions and concerns to exceed expectations.
Team Management & Development
- Hire, train, and develop store staff on sales techniques, service, collaboration, and brand requirements.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals encouraging open dialogue through ongoing coaching and motivation.
- Organize regular team meetings communicating objectives, expectations, and constructive feedback.
- Oversee staff scheduling and leave management for store managers to ensure sufficient coverage and operational effectiveness.
Market Analysis & Strategy
- Leverage market intelligence to spot growth opportunities and adjust cluster strategies accordingly.
- Stay current on market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities relevant to the brand and location.
Communication & Reporting
- Liaise with Area Sales Manager, Retail Operations Manager, and stakeholders to relay business drivers, merchandise issues, and other essential data.
- Compile and present periodical reports on store performance including highlights, challenges, and suggested improvements.
Desired Experience
Candidates should bring 4 to 5 years of retail management experience, with a minimum of 2 to 3 years managing multiple stores simultaneously, preferably within fashion or related sectors. Demonstrated success overseeing several retail sites is essential.
