Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead a development team within the Asset Management Technology division. This position requires hands-on involvement in constructing Micro-Service architectures and User Interfaces, contributing significantly to the team's technical solutions for retirement and college savings platforms.
Qualifications and Technical Expertise
- Possess a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least a decade of experience in software design and development.
- Proven skills in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful APIs, and frameworks like Angular or equivalent.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools including Maven and Jenkins.
- Experience or knowledge of testing frameworks such as Karate, Playwright, or Storybook is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency with Oracle SQL and PLSQL.
- Exposure to cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Understanding of messaging systems like Kafka is a plus but not mandatory.
- Insight into investment management or related business domains is desirable yet optional.

- Enjoy working within Agile teams dedicated to delivering incremental value.
- Demonstrate effective prioritization across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Ability to perform issue triage, root cause analysis, and reliable decision-making under complex or urgent conditions.
- Champion best practices such as unit testing, automation, DevOps, CI/CD, design principles, and code reviews within the team.
- Proven capacity to collaborate constructively with diverse individuals and teams, both in-person and remotely, fostering strong professional relationships.
