Role Overview

As a Store Manager at Carter's, you will lead a team that represents the brand at its front line, warmly welcoming families and supporting them through key parenting milestones, from welcoming newborns to preparing kids for school. You'll cultivate an inclusive environment where team members can flourish, become brand ambassadors, and advance their careers through ongoing education and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and network to build talent pipelines; design succession plans through team training and development.
  • Create a safe, supportive workplace fostering collaboration and recognition to boost employee engagement.
  • Develop leadership within the team by providing clear guidance and delegating effectively.
  • Lead the customer experience on the sales floor by managing the Leader on Duty program.
  • Implement company policies related to merchandising, operations, payroll, and budgeting.
  • Analyze business performance metrics to identify behaviors driving success.
  • Ensure smooth, integrated omnichannel customer experiences with well-trained teams.
  • Promote customer loyalty via company programs and reduce losses through education and operational controls.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a positive, solution-oriented approach and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership and the ability to manage various responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Proficient with technologies such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and web navigation.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in retail or related management with direct report supervision.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds, with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods and climb ladders as needed.
  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and at least two closing shifts weekly.

Compensation and Additional Information

This role offers hourly pay ranging between $20.75 and $31.75, dependent on experience and location. Carter's is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring.
