Job Overview

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a Store Driver in Burlington, Ontario to provide safe and timely delivery of automotive parts to professional customers, assist in customer engagement, and contribute to store upkeep and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick, stage, and deliver automotive parts safely to professional client accounts.
  • Collect returned items and core parts during deliveries.
  • Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers, promoting current offers and loyalty programs.
  • Manage daily collections from credit accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and national professional customers, sharing relevant sales insights from deliveries.
  • Support upselling and cross-selling initiatives to boost average transaction values.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, merchandise facing, dusting, and parking area.
  • Perform general stocking tasks such as truck loading, backstock management, and cycle counts.
  • Stay updated on product inventory and new arrivals to assist in sales efforts.
  • Interact with walk-in customers, identify their needs, and recommend suitable parts or services.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and safe navigation skills.
  • Proficiency in operating delivery board systems and inventory equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written English; Spanish language skills are an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand safety guidelines, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic mathematical aptitude including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Customer service orientation with sales aptitude and persuasive communication.
  • Capability to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to learn new products and sales techniques.
  • Preferred experience in automotive parts industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

  • Requires frequent walking or standing.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and use hands/fingers for handling and reaching.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Visual requirements include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Work primarily indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Typical noise level is moderate; occasional exposure to moving parts and electrical risks.
