Store Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Store Driver to pick, stage, and safely deliver automotive parts to professional customers. This role includes handling returns, promoting sales campaigns, collecting payments, and engaging with customers to enhance sales and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and deliver parts efficiently to professional customers.
• Collect returned items and core parts from customers.
• Distribute weekly and monthly sales flyers while actively promoting current offers and loyalty programs.
• Manage daily credit account collections.
• Develop and nurture relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, sharing valuable insights gathered during deliveries.
• Support sales efforts by upselling and cross-selling products to improve transaction values.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the store, including floors, bathrooms, shelving, dusting, and parking areas.
• Conduct general stocking activities such as truck stocking, back stock management, and inventory cycle counts.
• Stay informed about product inventory and new stock arrivals to effectively assist in sales.
• Interact with walk-in customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable parts and services.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Skills

• Fluent in English (Spanish is advantageous) with excellent written and verbal communication to foster strong partnerships with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, parts catalogs, and procedural documentation.
• Proficient in basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals for various measurements.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including day, evening, and weekends as required.
• Confidence in engaging customers and actively promoting products.
• Eagerness to learn about new products and sales methods.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in automotive parts sales or delivery is favorable.

Educational Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certificates and Licenses

Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

The role demands frequent walking and standing, with the ability to talk, hear, and use hands for handling parts. Tasks involve reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally crawling. Employees must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Good visual acuity including close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment is necessary.

Work Environment

Primarily working indoors with occasional exposure to outdoor weather during tasks such as battery and wiper blade installation. Employees may encounter moving machinery, elevated locations, hazardous chemicals, electrical risks, explosives, and vibrations. Noise levels are typically moderate.

Hourly pay ranges from 17.60 to 18.85 CAD depending on factors like location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership skills, and applicable shift differentials.
