Role Overview
We are seeking a Steward Helper to join our luxury hospitality team at Fairmont Palliser. Reporting to the Chief Steward, you will support team members and assist in preparing outstanding cuisine, ensuring a pristine and efficient Food & Beverage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistently courteous, professional, and proactive service to guests and colleagues.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment adhering to Health & Safety regulations and possessing the required knowledge to work securely.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene standards, completing accurate temperature logs.
- Ensure all Food & Beverage areas, including staff cafeteria and Fairmont Gold Lounge, are sanitary and well-maintained.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks for all F&B back areas and equipment.
- Handle operation of dishwashers and replenish equipment across Food and Beverage locations.
- Follow correct recycling and composting procedures.
- Support kitchen staff with food delivery when necessary.
- Understand and apply WHMIS standards.
- Comply with hotel sustainability initiatives, including food waste reduction programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience of at least one year in a similar role is advantageous.
- Able to manage fast-paced, high-volume kitchen tasks with efficiency.
- Capable of multitasking and managing responsibilities promptly.
- Demonstrates strong organizational abilities.
- Possesses the capacity to work collaboratively and motivate a culturally diverse team.
- Energetic, proactive, self-motivated, outgoing, and a cooperative team player.
