Steward

Position Overview

The Steward is responsible for ensuring that all washable items are cleaned, stored, and maintained properly in a hygienic and safe work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machinery to maintain a sufficient supply of clean and sanitized tableware at all times.
• Maintain personal hygiene and uphold sanitation standards as mandated by the Health Department.
• Follow correct procedures for food storage, handling, and preparation.
• Adhere strictly to established Ecosure guidelines.
• Keep the work environment safe and clean by performing regular floor upkeep, trash disposal, proper equipment storage, and cleaning of the dish area prior to shift completion.
• Use and handle cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely and effectively.
• Complete all required training activities.
• Perform any additional assigned duties as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Customer service experience and enthusiasm.
• Willingness to acquire new skills and collaborate with the team.
• Flexible attitude and dedication to a team-focused work environment.
• Maintain clean and organized service areas.
• Comply with established Standard Operating Procedures thoroughly explained to staff.

Physical Requirements

• Regular walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and climbing.

Independent Judgment

The role operates under direct supervision with clearly defined policies and procedures; work is reviewed by the supervisor with limited autonomy for independent decision making.
