Steward

Overview

Minor Hotels, an international hotel operator and investor with over 530 properties globally, manages multiple brands including Anantara Hotels & Resorts. This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara in Doha, Qatar.

Role Summary

The Steward will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and sanitary, supporting efficient kitchen and food & beverage outlet functions in a safe and orderly environment.

Key Duties

• Sanitize all kitchen tools including equipment, pots, pans, and utensils thoroughly.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials from designated spots.
• Properly operate and monitor dishwashing machines.
• Keep track of cleaning supplies and chemicals; report any shortages promptly.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling buffets and banquets alongside kitchen and service colleagues.
• Adhere strictly to safety and sanitation guidelines, including appropriate handling of chemicals.
• Organize and stack clean dishes, ensuring they are stored correctly.
• Handle all kitchen and cleaning equipment with care to prevent damage.
• Conduct scheduled deep cleaning tasks such as oven cleaning and grease trap maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior experience as a steward or dishwasher in hotel or restaurant environments is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices in kitchen settings.
• Physical fitness enabling long periods of standing and handling of heavy objects.
• Positive team-oriented attitude with effective communication skills.
