About the Company
This opportunity is with a prominent multinational company known for its global presence and strong commitment to financial governance and regulatory compliance. They are currently expanding their Worldwide Statutory Accounting team responsible for statutory reporting, financial accounting, and tax information management for various international entities.
Role Overview
As a Statutory Accountant reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will oversee statutory reporting and accounting duties for a range of European and Asia Pacific entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assess statutory accounts for European and APAC entities.
- Organize and finalize statutory audits while coordinating with external auditors and accounting service providers.
- Review monthly US GAAP-based reports, including balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analyses, and variance explanations.
- Take full accountability for financial accounting across assigned entities, including annual financial disclosures and tax return support.
- Manage the completion and filing of government statistical returns.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to scrutinize and interpret financial outcomes.
- Liaise with Payroll teams on payroll reviews and corresponding compliance tasks.
- Support internal controls and ensure adherence to SOX standards.
- Initiate process enhancements and uphold meticulous financial accuracy and compliance standards.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a recognized professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Brings at least five years of experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, or related roles.
- Experienced in US GAAP reporting within multinational or global financial environments.
- Possesses strong technical accounting knowledge spanning US GAAP, IFRS, and Local GAAP, including statutory reporting and reconciliation.
- Skilled in supporting statutory audits and managing external auditor interactions.
- Familiar with internal control frameworks and SOX compliance requirements.
- Proficient with Oracle systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Exemplary organizational skills paired with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with robust stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluent in business English; proficiency in French is considered a significant asset.
- Capable of working autonomously, taking full ownership of projects, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
