About the Role
The Auckland Council's Resilience & Infrastructure division is seeking a Stakeholder & Partnerships Specialist to join their dedicated team. This pivotal fixed-term role (ending 10th September 2027) emphasizes developing and sustaining trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, partners, and customers. It also involves transparent and effective engagement on significant projects and initiatives.
This hybrid position requires onsite presence at the Albert Street office three days per week, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement stakeholder engagement and communication plans designed to foster trust and collaboration.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to craft and deliver clear, accessible communications through various channels.
- Establish and nurture influential partnerships within government, industry, and community sectors.
- Support Māori Outcomes initiatives by applying culturally respectful engagement strategies.
- Provide expert advice on stakeholder engagement to facilitate transformative change and improvement projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in stakeholder engagement and partnership cultivation, particularly within complex, political, or large organizational environments. They must demonstrate exceptional communication abilities and political/organizational insight, along with a commitment to te ao Māori and culturally aware engagement practices.
- Professional background in communications or public engagement.
- Experience working within the public sector or with industry/community stakeholders.
- At least five years of experience managing stakeholders in intricate or politically sensitive settings.
- Superior communication capabilities paired with strong political and organizational understanding.
- Dedication to culturally responsive engagement and Māori outcomes.
