Role Overview

The Staff Pharmacist position is a full-time role situated in Toronto, Ontario. Responsibilities include precise dispensing of medications, offering counseling for both prescription and non-prescription treatments, and upholding compliance with regulatory and organizational policies. Daily duties entail prescription evaluation, medication inventory oversight, conducting clinical evaluations such as medication reviews, and assisting with vaccination programs and other health-related services as needed.

The pharmacist works in tandem with pharmacy assistants and other store personnel to ensure smooth operations, outstanding customer service, and the promotion of safe medication use. Additional obligations involve participating in quality assurance measures and engaging in health promotion and community outreach efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Licensure as a Pharmacist in good standing with the appropriate provincial body (e.g., Ontario College of Pharmacists) with authorization to practice within Ontario.
• Comprehensive clinical knowledge of pharmacotherapy, potential drug interactions, and patient counseling techniques, capable of delivering clear and compassionate advice to a varied patient base.
• Competency with pharmacy management software, dispensing equipment, and prescription processing procedures.
• Meticulous attention to detail ensuring dispensing accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to legal and company standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities, with an aptitude for collaborative teamwork among pharmacy and retail store staff.
• Experience within community or retail pharmacy environments and familiarity with Canadian drug plans (both public and private) considered advantageous.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and meet service objectives in a dynamic workplace.
• Academic credentials including a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD); additional qualifications such as injection certification and CPR training are beneficial.
