Staff Partner Forward Deployed Engineer, Generative AI, Google Cloud

About the Role

Google Cloud is hiring a Generative AI Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) based in Singapore to join its Go-To-Market team. This role involves acting as an embedded innovator-builder who integrates cutting-edge AI technologies into practical, scalable solutions within partner environments. The position demands bridging the gap between experimental AI prototypes and fully production-ready, enterprise-grade systems by collaborating closely with strategic AI partners and their engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with strategic AI partners to transform rapid AI prototypes into robust, replicable agentic workflows, including multi-agent systems and MCP servers that generate tangible ROI.
• Develop high-efficiency evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure AI agent systems meet stringent standards for accuracy, safety, and latency.
• Detect common partner and field usage patterns or issues with Google’s AI technology, and contribute reusable components or formal feature requests to Google Engineering teams.
• Partner with forward deployed engineering teams to embed Google’s development best practices.
• Support partners in building sustainable agent delivery capabilities that drive customer activation and long-term success centered around measurable ROI.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of professional software development experience, proficient with Python or comparable programming languages.
• Proven background in architecting AI systems on cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience creating pipelines for structured and unstructured data utilizing vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-style architectures for enterprise AI applications.
• History of delivering production-grade AI solutions from concept through deployment.
• Experienced in leading technical discovery sessions with customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced academic degrees (Master’s or PhD) in AI, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with multi-agent systems frameworks like LangGraph, CrewAI, ADK, and complex interaction patterns such as ReAct, self-reflection, and hierarchical delegation.
• Understanding of Large Language Model metrics like tokens per second and cost per request, as well as methods to optimize state management and granular tracing.
