About CoreWeave
CoreWeave serves as The Essential Cloud for AI™, offering an innovative platform that empowers pioneers to effectively build and scale artificial intelligence technologies. Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave's platform combines high-performance infrastructure with expert technical knowledge to accelerate development and transform computing into practical capabilities. Established in 2017, the company became publicly traded on Nasdaq (CRWV) in March 2025. CoreWeave is also committed to fair compensation as a Living Wage accredited employer.
Role Overview
The Staff Frontend Engineer will lead the development and enhancement of the Physical AI platform’s user interface. This data-intensive, workflow-driven web application facilitates engineering experiments, run comparisons, agent interactions, and decision-making from complex test data. The role involves comprehensive ownership of the frontend stack, including architecture, design system improvements, performance tuning, and operational stability. Collaborating closely with Design, Product, and Backend teams, you will create intuitive interfaces for complex workflows, influence API contracts backed by Python, and ensure responsible integration of intelligent agent features. You will also contribute to improving developer experience, uphold rigorous testing standards, and mentor engineers at various levels.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Shape and maintain scalable frontend architecture and component systems within a complex, data-heavy web product.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design user interfaces for sophisticated engineering workflows and agentic systems.
- Optimize frontend performance and ensure reliability for production deployments.
- Enhance frontend developer environments and tools, including design systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement and maintain comprehensive testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end frameworks.
- Mentor engineering colleagues and promote high standards of engineering craftsmanship.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least 7 years of professional experience in software engineering, specializing in building and architecting complex, data-centric web applications.
- Advanced expertise in React and TypeScript, with deep understanding of frontend fundamentals, modular architecture, state management, routing, and data fetching strategies.
- Experience in developing visualization-heavy user interfaces such as dashboards, charts, time-series metrics, or experiment explorers for extensive data sets.
- Proven skills integrating frontends with REST or GraphQL APIs and strong knowledge of service-oriented design, data modeling, and Python-based web frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Hands-on familiarity with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and frontend monitoring tools such as Sentry, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Strong background in testing practices, build tools including Storybook, and improving developer ergonomics.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in high-ambiguity, cross-functional teams while providing mentorship.
Preferred Experience
- Background working on B2B SaaS frontends tailored for technical users such as machine learning engineers, data scientists, or physical test engineers.
- Experience with GraphQL, strongly-typed API clients in React, and server-side rendering or static site generation frameworks optimized for performance.
Personal Attributes
- A passion for designing intuitive, detailed web applications that make complex, data-heavy engineering tasks smooth and efficient.
- Curiosity about advancing Physical AI, intelligent agentic interfaces, and real-time experiment tracking technologies.
- Proficiency in creating scalable React and TypeScript systems, focused on performance, and fostering engineering best practices.
