Role Summary

The SEO Engineer role entails comprehensive ownership of the entire SEO ecosystem including website crawling, indexing, rendering, and enhancing content visibility in both conventional and AI-driven search engines. You will be entrusted with defining strategies, executing plans, and delivering measurable SEO results rather than merely advising.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine a holistic SEO strategy for the site with clear return on investment tracking and prioritization.
• Manage crawl allocations, optimize index health, and solve large-scale user-generated content indexing across millions of pages.
• Lead server-side rendering and pre-rendering implementations focused on improving indexing, rankings, and organic traffic metrics.
• Optimize content for AI-powered search engines, including management of AI crawler behavior, AI citation tracking, and ensuring content extractability.
• Create self-service SEO analytics dashboards leveraging Google Search Console APIs, log data analysis, and internal data workflows.
• Implement automation for SEO monitoring, diagnostics, regression testing, and comprehensive reporting using AI-enhanced coding techniques.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.

Required Skills

• Minimum of two years professional SEO experience, with at least one year handling SEO for websites with over a million pages.
• Proficient in React and TypeScript with in-depth knowledge of server-side rendering, React Server Components, hydration, caching strategies, and streaming techniques.
• Experienced in analyzing server access logs, including scripting to process extensive log files.
• Demonstrated success via a technical SEO case study showcasing baseline assessment, strategic intervention, attribution, and resulting improvement.
• Familiarity with Google Search Console APIs and SEO tools comparable to Ahrefs or Semrush, alongside solid experience with web analytics platforms.
• Fluent communication skills in both Chinese and English languages.

Preferred Skills

• Expertise in geo-targeted and programmatic SEO, particularly in fast-expanding user-generated content platforms.
• Experience managing international SEO implementations, including multi-locale and hreflang tagging configurations.
• Knowledge of Japanese or Korean search engine ecosystems is advantageous.
• Background in backend or full-stack development, especially with Node.js, PostgreSQL, or equivalent technologies.
• Strong personal interest in AI-generated content, anime culture, or creator community platforms.
