Job Overview

The Product Software division at Equinix is responsible for developing advanced software products and architectures for their platform and service portfolio. They seek engineers skilled in designing consistent APIs via microservices, facilitating multiple consumers, and simplifying complex enterprise workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the technical strategy and implement scalable, event-driven microservices that support enterprise workflow processes.
• Create reusable frameworks and self-service components to streamline service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle administration.
• Utilize AI technologies such as AI-assisted code reviews, automated testing, and root cause analysis to enhance software design and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with senior architects and interdisciplinary teams on architectural decisions across various domains including customer management, billing, pricing, and commerce.
• Champion design methodologies that enhance maintainability, system observability, and operational quality.
• Lead by example to build secure, dependable, and observable systems aligning with performance and scalability targets.
• Adopt and promote best practices encompassing API-driven development, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and DevSecOps principles.
• Work closely with product managers and engineering peers to convert business goals into scalable technical implementations.
• Contribute to automation efforts and AI-enhanced monitoring tools that improve system reliability and expedite problem resolution.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years in designing, developing, and managing scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and React.js.
• Proven expertise in creating microservices, RESTful APIs, and managing distributed systems in live production settings.
• Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design methodologies, architectural design patterns, and API development.
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including skills in data modeling and optimizing performance.
• History of building and maintaining SaaS/PaaS cloud products at scale.
• Proficient with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipeline development, automated testing, and contemporary DevOps approaches.
• Experience with generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to boost software quality, productivity, and delivery speed.
• Capability to assess technical trade-offs, engage in architectural decision-making, and guide solutions from design through deployment.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills, adept at conveying complex concepts to various stakeholders.
• Additional knowledge of Python is favorable, especially for automation, backend services, data processing, or AI projects.
• Educational background: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related practical experience.

Technology Stack

Mandatory: Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, React.js, SQL, NoSQL databases.

Preferred: Python, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI/ML or generative AI technologies.
