About the Role
We are seeking a talented Staff Engineer with expertise in Full Stack development using TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AWS to join a fast-growing fintech company revolutionizing energy trading for large industrial and commercial clients. This role combines hands-on software engineering with influencing product strategy, operating at the nexus of engineering and product management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with multiple teams to understand customer needs and translate them into effective software solutions.
- Lead architectural design and make critical technical decisions across the energy trading platform.
- Engage fully in the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical ownership and mentorship within the team, solving complex engineering challenges.
- Contribute to product strategy discussions with technical insights and customer-centric understanding.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to augment the workflow, reviewing and owning AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting outputs.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong professional background with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and AWS technologies.
- Excellent understanding of distributed, scalable, and complex system architectures.
- Experience operating as a hands-on engineer at the Staff Engineer level, making impactful technical decisions.
- Product-focused mindset with commercial awareness and passion for building solutions that address real customer challenges.
- Proficiency in evaluating AI-assisted coding tools, recognizing their limitations and ensuring quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Eligible to work in the UK and based in the UK due to remote work policy.
