Red Team Operator Cyber Security

About the Role

This role offers a chance to advance your career at a burgeoning technology firm providing comprehensive managed IT services, including cybersecurity. As a Red Team Operator, you will perform authorized adversary simulations, red team exercises, and assumed breach engagements for diverse clients. You will collaborate with clients to define objectives and threat scenarios, then design and execute realistic operations adhering to established rules of engagement.

Your responsibilities span hands-on offensive security, research, and operational tactics. You will develop and maintain red team infrastructure, create bespoke tools, investigate emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and adapt strategies when conventional methods fail.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and executing red team operations involving Windows, Linux, networks, cloud, and enterprise identity platforms.
• Prioritizing operational security (OPSEC), stealth, detection risk mitigation, and controlled execution during engagements.
• Utilizing a variety of industry-standard, open source, commercial, and proprietary tools for reconnaissance, web application assessment, initial access, command and control, Active Directory, cloud, and identity testing.
• Modifying existing tools or developing lightweight scripts when standard tooling is inadequate.
• Documenting operations comprehensively, detailing timelines and outcomes.
• Contributing to client deliverables and assisting in client-facing debriefings.
• Collaborating closely with engagement leads, technical teams, and client stakeholders.
• Providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a Red Team or Offensive Security role with up-to-date knowledge of adversary tradecraft, tooling, and emerging TTPs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of operating systems, network protocols, authentication methods, endpoint controls, identity platforms, and the OSI model.
• Ability to interpret code, identify security vulnerabilities, and develop supportive scripts or tools for red team objectives.
• Appreciation that red team operations require controlled and realistic compromises considering OPSEC, detection risk, logging, payload concealment, infrastructure management, attack path planning, and broader operational impact.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including knowledge sharing and mentoring aptitude.
• Possession of a relevant technical degree from a recognized top-tier university (e.g., Russell Group, Oxbridge).

Location and Working Arrangement

This is a remote position with the expectation to commute to the London office approximately every 2 to 3 weeks for collaborative work with colleagues.
