Job description
Role Overview
The Specialist Lifting Operations is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing and directing safe crane and lifting activities on construction sites. This role involves planning lifts, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all operations comply with safety benchmarks and project timelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess an Engineering Degree from a recognized institution.
- Accumulated at least 17 years of professional experience, including 5 to 10 years within the oil and gas sector in a similar capacity.
- Proven expertise in construction focusing on crane operations, rigging, and heavy lifting tasks.
- Hold certification in Lifting Supervision such as LEEA.
- Comprehensive understanding of crane safe working loads (SWL), lifting equipment upkeep, and applicable lifting regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of international lifting and rigging standards including ASME, OSHA, and LOLER regulations.
- Ability to interpret lifting drawings and calculations and provide expert guidance to subcontractors.
- Experience in reviewing, approving lift plans and studies, as well as rigging and lifting procedures; also in creating project-specific lifting and rigging procedures when required.
- Familiarity with inspection protocols for lifting gear and machinery including overhead cranes, gantries, davits, arms, and winches.
- Prior involvement in ADNOC projects is essential.
