About the Role
We are seeking a SOX Coordinator who will independently manage the complete lifecycle of SOX control execution, overseeing all phases from the initial global kickoff to obtaining final approval. This role involves substantial interaction with global SOX leads, control representatives, testers, volunteers, IPE preparers and approvers, as well as the Finance Controllership team, ensuring smooth progression of all modules according to established schedules.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee and track the progress of each SOX module, ensuring audits are documented accurately, completely, and ready for review and approval.
- Communicate effectively across teams to connect global leads, control owners, testers, and others involved in a multi-stage process.
- Inspect completed samples, address discrepancies, validate supporting documents, and confirm that conclusions adhere to documentation standards prior to further routing.
- Use tools such as Outlook, WDesk, Teams, BRIDGE, Excel, PDFs, control reports, and IPE templates in day-to-day coordination activities.
- Plan and drive the execution of the SOX testing process, including design testing, operating effectiveness checks, remediation, and validation tasks.
Specific Duties
- Participate in global SOX kickoffs, noting timelines, roles, and ownership details.
- Issue instructions for testing procedures and guide users through WDesk setup and execution.
- Coordinate preparation and approval of Information Produced by Entity (IPE), managing approvers and documentation uploads in WDesk.
- Review and resolve sample discrepancies, perform control owner reconfirmations, and oversee resubmissions until approval is achieved.
- Identify and train testers, distribute necessary reports, and monitor testing progress to ensure timely completion.
- Address ineffective controls, support issue logging and root cause analysis alongside Finance Controllership, and supervise remediation plans.
- Conduct rollforward validation, update WDesk responses, and handle final sign-off procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Over nine years of experience in accounts receivable or related accounting and finance roles.
- Demonstrated experience in both internal and external auditing processes (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, particularly U.S. GAAP, and financial controls including SOX compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong collaborations internally and externally.
- Motivated, results-oriented, detail-focused with a strong emphasis on maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the commercial risk insurance sector.
- Understanding of carrier disbursement workflows and insurance accounting.
- Familiarity with ERP and financial management systems such as SAP and Oracle.
