Role Overview
As the Sous Chef, you will closely assist the Head Chef in running an efficient, high-volume, and produce-centric kitchen. This position requires mentoring the kitchen team, innovating with seasonal and local ingredients, and ensuring top-quality dishes consistently leave the kitchen. The role is full-time, guaranteeing a minimum of 35 hours weekly with hourly pay ranging from $30.00 to $32.00 based on your skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations with precision and pride.
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen management, training, and staff development.
- Design menus highlighting local and seasonal produce, including specialties like house-cured meats and hand-stretched dough.
- Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, safety, and consistency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years working in a fast-paced, professional kitchen focused on fresh produce.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a cooperative and team-oriented approach.
- Comprehensive culinary proficiency across all kitchen areas.
- Strong taste sensitivity, calmness under pressure, and a genuine enthusiasm for flavour creation.
